By developing attractive transport connections, easy accessible and available for everybody, the INTERFACE initiative improves pre-conditions for more direct people-to-people contacts and better regional integration.

The initiatives focuses especially on the transport axes Karlskrona - Gdynia, Gdynia - Baltijsk, Trelleborg - Rostock, Gedser - Rostock - Nykøbing and Kołobrzeg / Darłowo / Ustka - Nexø but considers also other ports in South Baltic area.

35 local and regional authorities, public transport providers, ports, ferry operators and tourist organisations from Denmark, Germany, Poland, Russia and Sweden work jointly on applicable and sustainable cross-border passenger transport solutions.

Walk the Baltic - Take the Ferry!

We revitalize foot passenger transportation on ferries as comfortable, cheap & environmentally friendly alternative for cross-border travelling in the South Baltic area.

This website provides:

  • Links to information sources and offers for people who want to travel within the South Baltic area without car
  • Resources for ports and ferry operators that intend to improve their services for foot passengers

The INTERFACE initiative is part-financed from the South Baltic Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013. For more detailed information on the underlying projects INTERFACE and INTERFACE PLUS, please follow the links or use the menu bar above.
