Interface Partners signed a Letter of Commitment

Declaration on further support of Port Link

26.09.2012

During the Final Conference of INTERFACE on 25th of September 2012 in Rostock representatives of Hanseatic City of Rostock, Public Transport Association Warnow, Guldborgsund Municipality, City of Gdynia and Baltijsk Municipal district signed a letter of commitment to further support www.portlink.eu.

In summer 2012 www.portlink.eu has been launched. The portal is an important milestone for the project and an essential step towards better passenger information. It serves as information pool for people who like to travel through the South Baltic Area by ferry as a pedestrian. It delivers all necessary information about the public transport between ferry terminal, city and beyond from one single source.

With the web agencies be:deuten and portpilot the project community has found experienced partners who will operate and maintain www.portlink.eu. They will be in charge to keep the portal up to date. However, due to quickly changing circumstances in the transport sector and considering the large area the portal covers this might be a challenge. With regard to this the representatives of INTERFACE feel responsible to support the operator also after project.

By signing this letter the partners declare their willingness to continue supporting the operators of www.portlink.eu in the future. Be it, as contact and partner to provide local and regional information or as intermediary in consultation with transport operators from their regions/ cities. Moreover, they will help to take advantage of the additional (esp. touristic) potentials the portal offers, in particular to market and promote partner regions/ cities. Last but not least their initiative aims to further raise the awareness of Port Link.
