Resources for operators

Do you intend to upgrade your services for foot passengers or are you looking for new business opportunities? The following studies and documents give inspirations for port operators and ferry operators. They have been elaborated within the INTERFACE intiative.

Foot passenger service related benchmark study for the South Baltic area
The study evaluates the performance of foot passenger services in the ferry ports and their hinterland, with reference to minimum and high quality standards. Basing on this, deficits are identified and possible actions to improve the situation suggested.

Passenger requirement surveys for selected ferry ports in the South Baltic area (Rostock, Gedser, Gdynia, Karlskrona)
Between summer 2010 and spring 2011, foot passengers on the ferry routes Gdynia-Karlskrona and Rostock-Gedser were interviewed regarding their attitudes on services and service infrastructure given in respective ferry ports/ terminals.

Report from the INTERFACE PLUS study trip on ferry terminal design
The study tour included expert lectures, on-site inspections of model terminals as well as dialogue meetings with port and ferry operators in Ystad, Helsingør, Faaborg and Svendborg. Its purpose was to draw inspiration for the (re-)construction of small-scale facilities for the Poland – Bornholm services, to be carried out within the INTERFACE PLUS project.

Recommendations for setting up dynamic passenger information systems across borders
The report summarises & reviews the lessons learnt during the creation of the dynamic passenger information system for the axis Rostock - Gedser - Nykobing Falster within the INTERFACE PLUS project.

Resources for re-opening the connection Ustka – Nexø
The Town of Ustka and the INTERFACE PLUS initiative have created a number of studies (market analysis, operating model) that can be used by interested parties to re-open the passenger ferry connection to Bornholm. Furthermore, the planning process for the passenger terminal is completed so that it could be constructed at short notice. Please have a first look to the technical documentation here. If you would like to get further information and documents, you are very welcome to contact Jarosław Teodorowicz from the Town of Ustka (jteodorowicz(at)um.ustka(dot)pl).
