Reasonably priced accommodation for tourists from Poland

24.05.2012

From May 2012, Nexø Seaport offers reasonably priced accommodation in the port area. Former fishermen sheds were converted for this purpose into unique cottages during the winter months. The reconstruction was carried out and financed within the INTERFACE PLUS project.

The cottages are located just 100 m away from the ferry terminal. The rooms include two lower beds, a sink unit, a table and two chairs. Small terraces and outdoor furniture allow relaxing with a view to the port area. Guests have furthermore access to a common kitchen, sanitary facilities, washing machine and tumbler drier. They cottages can be booked via the website of Nexø Seaport A/S (www.nexohavn.dk). The price for a double room is 350 DKK per day.

Primary target group are tourists from Poland, who take the ferry from Kołobrzeg. Today most of them are one-day tourists. The new, for Danish standards low priced accommodation shall make them stay overnight on Bornholm. The cottages are offered and promoted in cooperation with the ferry operator Kołobrzeska Żegluga Pasażerska. They are part of the investments of Nexø Seaport in better service facilities related to the ferry lines to Poland. For the next year, it is planned to refurbish the passenger area of the terminal building.
