Across the sea by foot: Rostock Zoo invites Danish guests to discover Rostock and its new attraction as foot passenger

Danish flyer promotes Darwineum and comfortable cross-border connection

On 8th of September 2012, the DARWINEUM opened its gates and a vision of a new species-appropriate accommodation for our apes came true. With it, Rostock gets a new highlight and a further tourist attraction. Interface partners from Rostock and Guldborgsund took that opportunity to connect promotion activities for the Darwineum and the InterCombi-Ticket.

Interface partners, ferry operator Scandlines, initiative group Regiopole Rostock and Rostock Zoo created a common promotion flyer to attract more Danes to discover Rostock as foot passenger.

Background: Already in spring representatives from the tourism sector and retail industry from Rostock and Lolland Falster met to discuss the opportunities to raise the awareness of improved passenger connection between Rostock and Nykøbing via Gedser and new developed combination ticket, especially on the Danish side.  Among others it has been agreed to stronger connect the promotion of events and attractions in and around Rostock to the marketing of the combination ticket.  The Danish Flyer is a step into the right direction.

The flyer will be distributed by tourism agencies in Rostock, Nykøbing, Marielyst and service desks of transport operators Scandlines, RSAG and Movia.
